Adobe TV has just launched and I am very much impressed, nay!, in love with this so far.

SmartSound Quicktracks for Premiere Pro

Smartsound has just released a product called quick tracks for Adobe Premiere Pro and Premiere Elements.

It's actually a free download.  It's apparently ten different tracks.  SmartSound has been producing royalty free music tracks for Premiere since Premiere 6.0, which was my first exposure to SmartSound. 

Obviously, a SmartSound is hoping that you will enjoy the free tracks enough that you will want to purchase other tracks.  But you certainly can't go wrong with free, other than being put on their email list.

But at the very least it gives you Premiere users out there a chance to get free tracks for your productions.

A very good After Effects to DVD tutorial

It really should labeled as an Encore tutorial, since it is about DVD work, but a very good and recommended tutorial none the less.

Adobe Video Bundle in Superman Returns

Being a video guy that works in Adobe's Premiere Pro, I was totally wowed by the fact that Superman Returns used Adobe Products in the post production work.  This article here from the Adobe website gives the story.

"Adobe Premiere Pro digitized the footage for Superman Returns reliably and flawlessly from an imaging standpoint," says Anderson. "Every single frame of this film was touched by us and in turn by Adobe Premiere Pro."

Fixing white balance problems in post

When shooting anything always white balance.

Been told that?

Good!

But sometimes we forget or even worse we leave the camera on auto thinking that will save our butts. 

It will if you are shooting a family home video.  But not if it is something you want to sell.

I tell any videographer that works with me during a wedding shoot to pick a white balance and stick with that one.  Even if it is the wrong white balance, the importance is that the white balance is on one color, not shifting colors as it is in the auto setting.

Many shooters (that I've worked with) like to leave their cameras on auto.  The problem with that comes later in the editing process.  When the bride passes from room light into sunlight from a window, back into room light, the white balance changes in that shot.  The brides face looks warm, but then right in front of the window, she will briefly look blueish and so will here dress, but the trees on the outside of the window will look great! But now you have to correct that change in color in post, extra time and money down the drain.

Do your videos and your editor a favor and pick ONE white balance during a shot.  You will thank yourself for the time saved in post!
