REELEDin-A social networking site for film and video creators

Today on Revver there is a video promoting a site called REELEDin which is a social networking site for video and film creators to post reels and find work.

The video that is currentedly listed on the site is PG-13, too much for this site.  But I have posted there podcast from August 3rd to give an idea of what they do.

Revver makes changes to ad placement

Addition of CPM

Revver has made changes to their ad structure, by adding CPM, costs per 1000, or ad-views.  All users are automatically set up for pre-roll ad placement, or ads before your video plays.  You may go in and set up your account for post-roll, ad placement after your video. Has Revver "foundered"?

I saw this post on CinemaTech where a New York Times story stated that Revver has "foundered."  I'm not sure why they would say that.  Yes, YouTube is more prolific, but they came first with the sharing of videos with Flash, and being bought by Google helps.  But unlike YouTube, Dovetail, or MetaCafe, I can bring in money with as little as 20 hits on a video.  I speak from experience.  If video services go to a "pay only for the big boys" sort of set up then it becomes broadcasting for the internet, and nothing really changes.

Other Revver benefits

I also like the fact that Revver will share revenue with me when I share videos.  I don't know of anyone else that does that.  Post a comment if there is one.  The financial motivation to share Revver videos helps spread producers videos virally.  Which is what we all want.

So on that note, here is a Revver video of the day from a few days ago.  This could be the new bobbing for apples.  I have no idea how these guys did this.
